This stereo has no CD player. Instead it has a front USB port for recharging and playing music from smart phones, MP3 players and thumb drives. There is also also a 3.5 mm audio input on the face plate for patching in the audio from any external audio source. Lastly, this unit is Bluetooth compatible so you can stream your music wirelessly from any Bluetooth compatible device.

This unit is a marine stereo because it has resin circuit boards to protect against corrosion caused by humidity and salt air and also is made of UV resistant materials. It is not waterproof, however, so you should use a cover to protect it if you think it is likely to get wet.
