This stereo does not have a CD player. However, it will play digital music files from MP3 players, thumb drives, SD cards and similar devices. There is a USB port for connecting devices and an SD card slot for supplying the files. MP3 players will be recharged when connected via USB. You can play the music from iPods and iPhones through the 3.5 mm front audio input jack. (This unit does not have the software required to play music from Apple products via USB, but it can recharge them)

This is a marine stereo because it has special coated circuit boards that will resist corrosion and it is also constructed of UV resistant materials. It is not waterproof, however, and you should use a cover if you think it might get wet.
