BOSS Marine loudspeakers are designed to provide excellent performance in the roughest conditions. Polypropylene cones, rubber surrounds and heavy duty polymer based speaker frames make them impervious to moisture. Splashing salt water on them will not harm these speakers. Boss utilizes a protective coating to block UV rays from the sun maintaining material integrity and to keep them looking good. These BOSS speakers also resist destructive effects of chlorine making them perfect for use around spas and swimming pools.

These speakers come with a unique external crossover for excellent division of the sound frequencies between the tweeter and woofer

Excellent sound for the price!

Well, I added these to my boat as a second pair of speakers with my Sony head unit. They sound terrible with the 17w rms/channel that my head unit (and most others) put out. I should have done more research since these speakers have a minimum (continuous) rms rating of 200w each! Don't even consider getting these unless you're going to add a high-powered amp. I'm thinking of switching these out for lower power rated 6x9's if I can find some. It also is an odd size for marine speakers and now I'm stuck with these 6x9 holes I cut. Good luck.

Retailer's Note All speakers will sound better with an amp if they can handle the power, but there is no such thing as minimum RMS wattage for a speaker. This customer must have had some other problem with his system.
