This stereo has no CD player. It consists of a black box that contains the amplifier, radio, etc. and a wired waterproof controller that can be conveniently mounted. The box is enabled for Bluetooth audio streaming so you can stream your favorite music to the stereo wirelessly from any Bluetooth device. There is also a USB port for connecting MP3 players or flash drives. RCA Aux audio inputs are available for patching in the audio from any other audio source like a TV or computer.
The controller is completely waterproof and impervious to rain and splashing not submersion. The box has plasticoted circuit boards to protect against corrosion, but it is not waterproof and should be mounted out of direct exposure to the weather.

Works great and install was simple. Really like the fact that the head unit can be mounted in a secure and dry location in the boat. If you’re thinking about this stereo go for it. Works great for me.

Needed to replace an earlier version of this JBL marine unit. 1st unit failed after 2 years, no service or support for JBL in Australia that i could find. Only replaced with another JBL as the helm station cut outs match exactly this newer model, otherwise i would have purchased a better brand that is supported in this region
